President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Tinubu on his emergence as APC Presidential Flagbearer in the upcoming 2023 general election.
The President has said that Senator Ahmed Tinubu has the party’s full and unwavering support as he has emerged victorious, this was made known in a statement made by the special assistant to the President on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was on Wednesday officially declared the the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress.
Tinubu got 1,271 votes at the just concluded election which was held at Eagle Square, Abuja.
Rotimi Amaechi, former River State Governor followed behind with 316 votes, while Yemi Osinbajo the vice president gathered 235 votes. Senate president Ahmed Lawan and Governor Yahya Bello got 152 and 147 votes respectively.
The President emphasised on unity in the party to help Tinubu achieve victory in the 2023 election so that the APC administration will continue to grow the economy, secure communities and continue the fight against corruption.
He commended party men and women and thanked delegates for making the right decision.
