Justice Ariwoola of the supreme Court took the oath of office as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria. He was sworn in by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, June 27.
The President administered the oath of office to Justice Ariwoola during a swear in ceremony held at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the Nation’s Capital.
The New CJN Mr Ariwoola, 62, takes over from Justice Tanko Muhammad and is expected to serve in an acting capacity till further confirmation by the National Council (NJC).
Ariwoola swore to be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Federal Government of Nigeria, and also defend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
