Roadblocks have been mounted in some major locations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as the search for terrorists who escaped the Kuje Correctional Prison heightens.
Because of this current situation, roadblock has been mounted by soldiers stationed opposite Mogadishu Barracks, otherwise, called Abacha Barracks, on Sunday night causing heavy traffic on the road as far as AYA bridge.
Vehicles heading to Nyanya, Mararaba, Karu, Jos, Keffi among other places were trapped on the road till the early hours of Monday.
Apart from the Abuja-Keffi road, soldiers had set up roadblocks at the Zuba-Abuja-Kaduna express way, an attemp to stop Kuje Prison jail breakers from infiltrating Niger, Kaduna and Nasarawa States bordering the FCT.
The manhunt followed report that one of the Kuje inmates was caught in Nasarawa State on Friday.
A press statement by the spokesman of the NDLEA, Mr. Femi Babafemi, stated that, that another fleeing terror suspect, Suleiman Sidi, was arrested in the early hours of Monday at Area 1 motorpark, in the Federal Capital Territory, while attempting to board a commercial vehicle to Maiduguri, Borno State.
In a related development, the Police Command in Niger State, said it also captured another inmate Kazeem Murtala, who escaped during the Kuje jailbreak.
The inmate confessed that he escaped from the Kuje correctional Centre during the attack by ISWAP.
