Romance Novelist Nancy Crampton Bropy, who wrote the essay titled “how to murder your husband” have been convicted by a Jury in Portland, Oregon of fatally shooting her spouse.
The 12-person Jury found 71 year old Nancy Crampton Bropy guilty of second degree murder on Wednesday after much deliberation over Daniel Bropy’s death.
According to reports, Daniel Bropy, 63 year old chef was found dead on June 12, 2018 inside the Oregon Culinary Institute in Southwest Portland where he worked. He had two gunshot wounds, one in his back and the other in his chest. According to prosecutors, the author of “The Wrong Never Felt So Right” series of novels including “The Wrong Husband” and the “Wrong Lover”, was motivated by money and a life insurance policy when she shot her husband.
How ever she denied having any reason to kill her spouse as she stated that their financial problems had been solved by cashing in a portion of Bropy’s retirement saving plan.
She was arrested 3 months after husbands death after security footage showed her car close to the crime scene. Though she denied it saying that her presence was mere coincidence and that she parked in the area to work on her writing. She also stated that the gun the police alleged was the murder weapon was bought for research.
Crampton Brophy has remained in custody since her arrest in September 2018, several months after her husband was shot. Her sentencing has been scheduled for June 13.
