One of R Kelly’s alledged Victims Joycelyn Savage has come out to say that they are engaged.
In a letter written by Joycelyn to a judge on June 13, two weeks before R Kelly, 55, was sentenced to 30 years on sex trafficking and racketeering, she wrote that she and the R&B singer are engaged and asked the court for a more lenient prison sentence on his behalf.
“My name is Joycelyn Savage, and I’m Robert Kelly‘s fiancé,” Joycelyn began in the letter she addressed to Judge Ann Donnelly. “I’m writing this letter in support of Robert in advance of his sentencing, so I can explain to the court that I am not the victim that the government has portrayed me to be.”
Joycelyn, 26, also went ahead to claim that her relationship with the disgraced singer was “amazing.” And that they “have a very special connection and are deeply in love.”
“I still support Robert to this day because I love him and will always be here to support him. Robert is not the monster that the government has described him to be. The Robert I know is very sweet, gentle, and kind. At the end of the day, he has always made sure that I’m taken care of, and any other women he was with as well,” She wrote.
Savage continued of Kelly, “He’s very determined and focused on his goals, and the things that have been said about him, with me and other women being held against our will is absolutely untrue.”
The 26 year old singer also wrote that, “It breaks my heart that the government has created a narrative that I’m a victim.”
“I’m a grown woman, and can speak for myself which is why I wanted to provide this letter to the court,” she added. “Kelly is a great man, with a great heart and deserves to be home with his loved ones who are ready to support him.”
Kelly’s accusation which has atleast spanned from 1992-2017 has had dozens of witnesses accuse the R&B singer of grooming them for sex while they were underage.
Even as Kelly pleaded not guilty to all counts against him, he was still sentenced to 30 years in prison on June 29, almost 2 weeks after Joycelyn wrote the letter.
The singer in addition, recieved 5 years of supervised release and a $100,000 fine as part of his sentencing.
