Popular Nigerian singer D’banj opens up on his life before the fame came.
Nigerian super star, Dapo Oyebanjo aka D’banj has disclosed he travelled to several states in Nigeria and outside the shores of the country with his father, who was in the military when he was just a child, in a recent interview with his longtime friend, Ikechukwu, also known as Killz.
Ikechukwu and D’Banj have been friends since teenage days, and worked on different music projects together. On the latest episode of ‘Drinks With Killz,’ D’banj gave viewers some private details about himself.
D’banj revealed that he worked 12 hours daily from 7am to 7pm as a security guard in London, United Kingdom so as to make a living.
“I was a security guard. I know say I be star, na night shift I dey do, in the morning I still dey fresh but of course, I realise say you gat to work,” said D’banj, adding that “I dey do 12 hours shift, 7PM to 7AM.”
“At that time, the oyinbos no need to dey check you for CCTV, they know how to monitor you. All they need you to do is click in every ten to fifteen minutes.”
D’Banj became a big Afropop star after he returned to Nigeria with his friend and erstwhile business partner, Don Jazzy. They formed MoHits records and signed five music acts before the end of the record label after their split as business partners.
