In a recent statement released in Abuja on Sunday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) disclosed a new date for the commencement of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME). According to Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Head of Public Affairs and Protocol at JAMB, the UTME originally slated to begin on April 29th, will now commence on April 25th, 2023. Additionally, the board will conduct its mock-UTME on April 18th, 2023, which was previously rescheduled.
In a recent development, it has been reported that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) conducted its 2023 Mock-UTME on Thursday, March 30 across 725 centres in Nigeria. However, certain centres experienced technical difficulties, leading to some candidates being unable to sit for the examination. The mock examination was initially intended to gauge the board’s preparedness for the upcoming UTME, as well as provide prospective candidates with a firsthand experience of the CBT test environment.
According to Benjamin, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rescheduled the mock examination to hold on Tuesday, April 18. This move is to provide an opportunity for candidates who were unable to sit for the examination through no fault of theirs to take the exam. Candidates who had previously been screened for the examination but could not sit for it will be given a chance to retake the mock examination on April 18. Benjamin also confirmed that the results of candidates who successfully took the mock examination on March 30 have been released.
In a recent statement, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced that the conduct of its 2023 UTME has been rescheduled from Saturday, April 29, to Tuesday, April 25. According to the Board, this adjustment was made to accommodate other major and critical national assignments. JAMB hopes that this change will enable all citizens to exercise their civic responsibilities. However, the Board emphasized that it cannot shift forward its examination further, as other public examinations are set to commence their exercises in the early part of May 2023. Additionally, JAMB noted the importance of accommodating institutions with stable academic calendars to resume as scheduled.
According to his statement, the board will maintain partnerships with government agencies to ensure their candidates receive optimal support. Additionally, the board has requested cooperation from all parties as they carry out their crucial responsibilities.
